And the highest residential building in Europe will be... in Istanbul.

The project is called Istanbul Sapphire and is located in Region 4 of the Turkish city. Once the building is completed in the end of 2009, it will soar up 64 floors and will boast 174 apartments from 120 to 1,100 sq m. The complex will include a 34,000-sq-m shopping center, a golf course, gym and spa with a swimming pool, public areas and a restaurant. The architects have taken care that the building meets the necessary requirements to receive a certificate for sustainable architecture. The total amount of the investment will be USD 200 million.
