The hundredth investment project certificate

has been reported by InvestBulgaria, the investment promotion agency of the Government. Lufthansa Technik Sofia, a joint venture of German company Lufthansa Technik and Bulgarian conglomerate Chimimport, got the document for the plans to build facilities for technical servicing of airplanes at Sofia’s airport. Their investments amount to EUR 18m. The certificates issued by the investment agency give the opportunity to companies to obtain special privileges from the state. Legislation changes have abolished the opportunity for real estate developers who were the most active group of firms looking for state financing for infrastructure and facilitated administration services, guaranteed by the certificates.
