The areas - Sofia

"The Master Plan of Sofia provides several types of areas, which will offer high living standard", say arch. architects Zhorzheta Rafailova and Yordan Kirkov, of the municipal company Sofproekt OGP, which has worked out the regulation for the development of the territories of the city. The first type is residential area with low building heights in natural environment, with land properties larger than 1,500 sq m. The second type is an area with low building heights with additional, specific requirements and properties larger than 500 sq m. Such areas come up to be former resort-districts like Gorna Banya, Knyazhevo, Boyana, Dragalevtsi, and Simeonovo. In the third, the so called eco-areas, there is also low height of construction and the environment must be fully preserved, although the areas are inhabited. These regions are the Cinema Center (Kinotsentar), the residential areas in the Western Park, the border with the Vitosha Park, the territories around Bankya. Districts with possibility to become prime habitations are found in the north, as future development is planned in Svetovrachane, Negovan, Voynegovtsi, Lokorsko, Novi Iskar. Their development is planned in the long term after 2020.
Investors, architects and advisors are uniting around the thesis for the future hotspots in Sofia. Except the ones mentioned so far, they also include Bistritsa, Lozen and generally areas, where the massive development has not yet started.
