Bulgaria must not impose higher restrictions than the other European Union members, according to the Confederation of the Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria (CEIBG). The business sector must not be isolated from the process of resolving the problem as the only participants so far have been administrators, representatives of nature preserving organizations and scientists. The main problems referred by CEIBG included the replacement of areas, which are wanted by the investors, with other areas, which are not so attractive, and access to maps of the Natura 2000 project. The representatives of the organization also demanded land plots, which receive positive environmental evaluation, to be excluded from the protected areas. Buffer zones should be less restricted following the model of the other EU members, which permit the development of ski, balneological an other types of tourism in protected areas.
