Two masterpieces by Canaletto

were sold at the Old Master Sale at Christie’s London. This is the first time when pictures passed down by the same family since 1738 (when it is believed they were commissioned), are being sold. The two pictures of Venice have been commissioned by Englishman Thomas Brand, who traveled through Italy in the beginning of 18^th century. The Grand Canal, Venice canvas brought €4,526,718.
