Rumen Malchev, "Prelude"; oil on canvas; 90/100 cm

He paints what he experiences. Real characters dressed in miniatures live in his paintings. She displays her world. Her paintings make mental representations of things rather than photographically exhibiting them. They are two young promising painters that are yet to receive attention. Gallery Arte presents Rumen Malchev and Vasilena Kinareva-Nikiforova.

Rumen Malchev has passed through different stages of personal perfection. He works on his own without giving in to trends. His paintings are full of pulsing worlds full of mystic, fantastic and quite real objects. The artist defines his works like "puzzles, consisting of invisible pieces, which can be found somewhere beneath my brush". There is no constituency in them and the motion within them is free.
"When I begin to paint, I have no idea as to what I will tell nor what I will find. Sometimes I go through larger or smaller pauses in space that I have to unite with one detail. Miniatures that at first glance seem to tear the painting’s structure apart actually fill up the vacuum of pauses", Rumen Malchev adds.
According to Ivana Murdzhieva, an art expert, the painter’s works do not require an additional explanation by the author – they are surprisingly independent and insist on self-presentation.
While abstract persons are the main heroes in the oil performance of Rumen Malchev, Vasilena Nikiforova puts an emphasis on technique. Her style is unique – aquarelle canvas on wood. Her paintings are full of well forgotten antique objects, influenced by modern trends; her works exhibit the collision of objects, materials and living things. The work of Vasilena has been influenced by her numerous illustrations of children’s books. The fact that Ms. Nikiforova has participated in a number of international exhibitions and prestigious festivals – Art Expo – New York, and Art Expo – Atlanta speaks well of her virtuosity.
You can find both painters with their own exhibition at Arte Gallery. The objectives that gallerists have set include presenting contemporary Bulgarian artists – either well-known names or young talents, who use varied styles and techniques and are distinguished for their unique styles. Some of the authors working with Arte Gallery include Angel Vasilev, Alen Roa, Andrey Yanev, Vassilena Nikiforova, Vezhdi Rashidov, Volodya Kenarev, Georgi Lechev, Georgi Lipovanski, Darina Yaneva, Dimitar Vetsin, Emil Stoychev, Ivan Andonov, Ivan Trifonov, Ivan Stratiev, Krasimir Krastev, Kunka Dimitrova, Milko Bozhkov, Mihalis Garudis, Misho Nedkov, Nikolay Yanakiev, Plamen Todorov, Rumen Malchev, Stoyan Tsanev, Stefan Yanev, Suzi Nedkova, Hristo Yotov, Yury Bukov and others.
