Francis Sauza’s painting Birth sold

at Christie’s London for GBP 1.27 m. This was the record-breaking lot at the contemporary Indian art season at the famous auction house. The work dates back to 1955 and overran its initial price of GBP 800,000. The auction was part of Christie’s South Asian Modern and Contemporary Art session, which fetched more than GBP 5.4 million.
